Mary Richards BS, MS, PN1,CSCS USAW

Founder & Owner of Richards Nutrition

I still can't believe I get to do what I LOVE for work! My life’s purpose is to help and encourgage people to get and stay in shape and live their life to the fullest. Developing this passion and refining my purpose has been quite the adventure. I grew up in a big family in rural Alaska hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, gardening and playing every sport imaginable. Being raised five hours from the nearest grocery store engrained in me an appreciation for creation and all it has to offer in both beauty and provision, as well as a spirit to live resourcefully and sustainably. I was recruited to play Division 1 sports at Syracuse University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in exercise science. I was also a four year member of the varsity rowing team while also competing on the ice hockey and track teams. During college, my studies focused on athletic performance and strength and conditioning which launched me into my professional career within the industry. I completed two full-time internships, the first at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning (MBSC) in Boston, MA, and the second at Harvard University where I became a board certified strength and conditioning specialist and served in roles at the famed Harvard Business School. I then received my master’s degree in health and recreational sports management from Kent State University.  Upon completing my master’s program, I began working at Yale University where I worked with all 35 of their NCAA sport teams. From there my collegiate professional journey took me to Boston College where I worked with all of their olympic sports on campus!

While coaching at Boston College, I met my husband, Jordan, who was playing for the New England Patriots at the time. Since then we have lived in Massachusetts twice, California twice, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas. In 2024 we returned back to California and now reside in the Bay Area. I am a proud mother of 4, twins Emmanuel and David, and girls Mercy and Ruby.)  Having been fortunate to coach athletes competing at the highest level collegiately and professionally, and journey with everyday working professionals looking to create healthy wellness rhythms, I have learned that often times the missing element towards achieving their goals is proper fueling of their bodies and nutrition! Nutrition coaching has helped me bridge the gap for my clients between just doing an exercise program to actually seeing and feeling tangible results! I am passionate about helping you achieve your goals and feel your best so that you can be your best.
